Illuminate: Verse & Context is designed to protect your privacy. We collect as little information as possible and are fully transparent about what we do collect and why.
When you first open the App, a random anonymous identifier is generated and stored on your device. This identifier is not linked to your name, email address, or any other personal information. It is used solely to save your bookmarks, highlights, and personal notes so they persist between sessions.
If you choose to use the bookmarks, highlights, or personal notes features, that content is stored in our secure database linked to your anonymous device identifier. This includes:
This content is entirely optional and under your control. You may delete any bookmark, highlight, or note at any time from within the App.
If you purchase Illuminate Pro, your transaction is processed by Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We use RevenueCat, a third-party service, to manage and verify purchase entitlements. RevenueCat receives your anonymous device identifier and purchase status. We do not receive or store your payment card details, Apple ID, or Google account information.
We do not collect analytics, usage tracking, crash reports, or behavioral data. We do not use any third-party analytics services.

Your bookmarks, highlights, and notes are stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database provider. Data is encrypted in transit using industry-standard TLS encryption. Your anonymous device identifier is stored locally on your device using secure device storage.
We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or loss. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.
Your bookmarks, highlights, and notes are retained as long as you use the App. If you uninstall the App, your anonymous device identifier is removed from your device. Your stored content in our database will be retained for up to 12 months after your last active session, after which it may be automatically deleted.

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
